Jerez came through the youth ranks of local giants CSD Comunicaciones before joining Cobán Imperial and CSD Municipal. After his return at Comunicaciones he moved abroad to play in Uruguay, first trialling with Peñarol[3] and eventually signing up at Rentistas.[4]
He then returned to Guatemala in September 2009 to play for Deportivo Jalapa[5] but in December 2009 he joined Uruguayan side Rampla Juniors for a trial and was pretty close to join them.[6]
In summer 2010 he joined Argentinian third division side Club Comunicaciones.[7]
Jerez made his debut for Guatemala in a January 2006 friendly match against the United States and has, as of January 2010, earned a total of 5 caps, scoring no goals. He has represented his country in 1 FIFA World Cup qualification match[8] and at the UNCAF Nations Cup 2009.[9] He played in all of his team's matches at the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
